If you need more hardness, pls choose the high carbon steel, like 45#, 55#, 60# or spring steel wire.

If you need more abrasive resistance, pls choose the manganese steel like 65Mn, which is more flexible, it`s more suitable for the big objects, which need thick and flexible wires woven mesh.

If the environment is corrosive, you can choose the stainless steel wires like 304, 316, 304L, 316L.

Our suggestions:

Commonly we suggest high carbon steel wire is ok for small steel wires, and 65Mn wire for thick ones.
